Hello,
perhaps someone can help me. I would like to know where comes the surname Paletta from. I think this could be an italian surname, but I don't know how that could be, because I have no relatives in Italy.
And then I would like to know what ist the meaning of the first name Inken. I know that this is an German name and it comes from Ostfriesland. But that's all I know. I really would know more about.
It would be great if someone would know someting about the first and second name.
E-Mails could be send in German, English or French too.
thanks a lot
Inken

Re: Surname Paletta
Hallo from Berlin,
my first name is inken and for that very reason made some checkings of the origin longer time ago.
Well to read on many pages that it is a variation of "Inge" or "Ingeborg". Derivated by the tribe of the "Ingaevonen" (different writings of that tribe are to find everywhere)...and this is not really ONE german tribe....these are 5 tribes....Friesen (not only Ostfriesen), Kimber, Teutonen..and the other two i dont remember....sorry.
They were living more in the North......Denmark...but yes, also in northern Germany.
The Friesen are still living at the coast of the Northern sea....the Kimber and Teutonen had the good idea to go to Italy.... at the time of the big folkwandering. The rest is sad history (they are not existing anymore).
Its very interesting to read about them....they won many battles till they finally died in - nowadays - Italy...in a big slaughtery.....even killing themselves when they realized that they will loose.
Here are some more informations:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingaevonen
http://kelten.piranho.at/pages/kimbern% ... utonen.htm
http://guenter-peter.de/VIDEOS/VB000693.HTML
Since i know more about the origin of my name.... i like it more. May sound stupid...but i had much "fun" in primary school with it. Its such a nice rhyme with other words....like "Schinken"..."stinken".
Good luck...i was not small for my age....that teasing didnt last long
Friendly greetings from
